Cornetts IGA Supermarkets

Cornett's Supermarkets is a family business which opened their first store in Chermside in 1973, and onto Bribie Island in 1978.

They soon established thriving businesses by giving customers "good value for money on quality product". In 1995 a group of stores known in Central Queensland as Denham's was purchased, increasing to a total eleven stores.

November 2001 saw them acquired the Franklins stores at Deception Bay and Gympie, the following year an ex Bi-Lo store at Banksia Beach, and two stores at Barcaldine and Gayndah brought the total to sixteen stores. This allows them to have the required buying power to be very competitive.

They have their own fresh produce distribution centre in the Brisbane Markets and, have been working with Queensland abattoirs have developed a quality control for their lamb, pork and chicken supplies. Early 2005 Cornetts increased stores to 25 and will acquire Action Supermarkets divested by Metcash soon thus covering the state from Toowoomba to Longreach in the west, and Cooktown in the north.

Drake Foodmarkets

Drake Foodmarkets opened its first large supermarket at Torrensville, and has expanded to become South Australia's largest independent supermarket chain, extending from Wallaroo in the north to Seaford in the south.
